That's what I'd heard. The eggs aren't much bigger than chicken eggs, they produce a less of them and it takes more feed to feed them. Besides, remember where the cheapest eggs come from - imagine turkeys in battery cages... I don't think that'd work out too well... 😬

A friend of mine hooks me up with random mixed batches of eggs from her farm all the time. Chicken, turkey, duck, and guinea. The turkey eggs are huge. I like to save those for when I do a steak. All that wonderful yolk... 🤤😋

Could you imagine, a Thanksgiving with deviled eggs made from turkey eggs, stuffing made from turkey eggs, and whatever else uses eggs made from turkey eggs? That’d definitely bring a whole new meaning to the term Turkey Day.

without watching, my guess is that Turkeys have only been domesticated for a few hundred years and chickens for many thousands and chickens have been highly optimized to be efficient egg layers as well as requiring less food to sustain them. So economically, it'd be a lot cheaper to run a chicken farm than a turkey farm if your goal is egg production.

The reason “I” don’t (didn’t) eat turkeys eggs is they are “rubbery” when cooked (sunny side up) and the flavor is much stronger than chicken eggs and not in a good way. So never had a desire to eat them again after trying them. We had a flock of pet turkeys when my kids were still home and in school. I don’t think we ever tried cooking with them now that I think about it.

Pro tip: don't let yourself get whooped by a chicken. Just wear boots and use them as a shield. Also mean roosters aren't worth it. You can have a sweet rooster that you can even pick up and pet if you get the right one.

Why don't we eat HUMAN eggs? Women produce eggs every month, and if the eggs are not fertilized, they are destroyed and thrown away, which is a waste. Why not eat the unfertilized eggs? They are not (full) human beings and they are going to be destroyed anyway.

interesting, the reason i thouhgt we never eat turkey eggs but just the turkey itself, is because some folks believe you need to repopulate the turkey culture in order to avoid it from hitting the endangered species mark thus stopping all turkey meat production losing farmers money, yes i know there are alot of turkeys, but i beleive there a population limit before an animal is considered endangered, and as of right now I'm surprised Turkey's aren't in the endangered species list to be 100 percent honest.
